This
beautiful Native American pitcher and mug set was made by the Revere China
Company for Akron Lodge No. 83 in Akron, Ohio. The pictures are
four-color transfers with the edges / borders / handles hand-painted and
trimmed in gold. A couple of the transfers are duplicated on different
color mugs. This theme was a popular motif at the end of the 19th
century with "Buffalo Bill" Cody being on tour about this time with
his Wild West Show.
A
special "Thanks" goes out to Worshipful Brother Joe Cook of Akron
Lodge No. 83 for sharing pictures of his Lodge's beautiful collection.
