1886 23rd
Conclave Knight Templar Anheuser Busch Matchsafe
This nickel plated brass
matchsafe was a complimentary gift presented to Knight Templars attending the
1886 23rd Triennial Conclave in St. Louis, Mo. St. Louis is home to the
famous Anheuser Busch Brewery and I'm sure they held the beer concession for
the Conclave. The front is stamped "Compliments of Anheuser Busch
St. Louis" and the Anheuser Busch advertising emblem. On the back
it is stamped "Knights Templar - 23d Conclave - September 1886 - St.
Louis, Mo". The striker is on the bottom and it has a purse type
opening. It was made by the Hauck Company, Brooklyn, NY. It
measures 3 1/4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inch wide.
We would like to
