Masonic Hat Cockade

This is an early
Masonic Hat Cockade or rosette worn on the side of a chapeau or hat as a sign
of rank. Circa 1840's-60's. The
center filigree is hand-cut with a jewelers saw and the black ribbon border is
sewn by hand. It measures 3
3/4 inches in diameter.
