Brass Masonic Door Knocker

This is one of the most elegant
and highest quality Masonic door knockers ever produced. The striker is a hand
holding a gavel intertwined with the letter "G". The
back plate is a square and compass.. The door knocker almost has a
black forest look to it. It is made of Brass and measures 6" 1/8h x 5 1/2"w and
weighs 1 1/2 lbs!
mason1947 on eBay
purchased a small group of these Brass Door knockers along with Masonic plaques
that we have been selling on eBay from a foundry that went out of business in
the Detroit area. The foundry produced parts for Chrysler and now the work is
done overseas.

This gorgeous door knocker is an
earlier version than the one above. It is of European decent.
In referring to the passage of Matthew 7:7,
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall
be opened unto you," Dr. Clarke says: "These three words - ask, seek, knock -
include the ideas of want, loss, and earnestness." The application made to the
passage theologically is equally appropriate to it in a Masonic Lodge. You ask
for acceptance, you seek for light, you knock for initiation, which includes
the other two.
