Broken Column Fold-out FOB

This Broken Column and Cross FOB represents the pinnacle in geometric design and craftsmanship for Masonic jewelry.  In its closed position it looks very much like a "Broken Column" that symbolizes the death of a Friend and Brother, however, by an ingenious arrangement of hinges, which are imperceptible from the exterior, it may be opened out into the form of a cross.  Each section is pyramidical in shape with a cubicalical base.   Usually, a paper is sold with these charms explaining the symbolism of the whole.  Many of the early pieces were English made and new reproductions are currently available.  Beware in the difference in prices as well... an early 1900's FOB will bring $1,500+ and a newly made reproduction around $300+.
