Havana Lions Club Generator Raffle
Members of the Havana Lions Club gathered at
Stone's Building Supply last Friday at 12 noon to draw a winning ticket for
their generator raffle. The winning ticket was drawn by "Obie" Wood, age 4,
the grandson of Jim and Sharyn Bennett. Obie gave the drawing cage several
big spins, then reached inside to pick one ticket! The ticket he drew
belonged to Havana residents Les and Carolyn Wheeler! Les Wheeler was in
attendance to witness the drawing and was struck in disbelief! He said, "I
can't believe it, I've never won anything in my life."
Club President Larry Clayton congratulated Les
and went on to "Thank" the many local businesses who supported the raffle.
They included Stone's Building Supply, Coastal Plywood Co., Havana Health
and Fitness Club, Faith Funeral Home, Jim Bennett Construction, Capital City
Bank, A Touch of Class Florist, Harvey's Supermarket and a special "Thank
You" to the Havana Herald for publicity of the raffle.
Larry Clayton also "Thanked" the Lions Club
members who sold the many tickets that made this fundraiser a huge success
for the club and its charities! He also thanked the citizens of Gadsden
County for their support of the Havana Lions Club and promised to have
another generator raffle next year!
