An extremely rare Irish naval dirk with masonic conections. The hilt is  made of turned ebony with a short gilt brass cross guard. The scabbard is the most interesting feature of this rare item as it has the Masonic Square and Compasses with the Letter "G" engraved into it and is also marked "PRIORY LODGE 241 NEW ROSS".   New Ross is in the south of Ireland about 2 miles from Waterford Harbour. Overall length 12 inches. Some very minor rust on the blade, otherwise, very good to excellent condition.
