Morton
Commandery No. 4,
50th
Anniversary Invitation
This is a wonderful old piece of
collectible memorabilia! It is a 4 x 6 inch pewter/tin invitation with a
raised relief design. It was found in its original box which is labeled
"Morton Commandery New York". The box and invitation are both in very good
condition. The invitation reads "Semi-Centennial of
Morton Commandery No. 4, New York. 1823 - 1873. Academy of Music, Monday
Evening, December 22nd, 1873". In the corner it reads
"J.C. Webb, 77 Nassau St. NY". In another
corner it reads "Designed by W.F. Costenbader".
It is exceptionally well made with the raised relief image of the Sir Knights
on their horses!.
A special "Thank
You" to Sir Knight Richard Kerimoglu for sharing the images of this beautiful
one-of-a-kind invitation with our museum. Brother Richard is a Past
Commander of Coeur De Lion Commandery No. 23 in New York City. He was
Knighted in Morton Commandery No 4. and is currently the Zone Commander of Zone
2 of the Grand Commandery of the state of New York.
