Premier Issue of Masonic Magazine
As curator of the museum, Brethren often mention
to me the books and magazines they are reading, and I am always grateful for
such information and recommendations. Many times, picking up on these
suggestions results in enrichment of my own knowledge. A new entry into
the field of Masonic Education is the "Masonic Magazine", published
quarterly by a most learned Brother Stephen A. Dafoe. Brother Stephen is
also the webmaster of several excellent Masonic websites, which include:
http://www.templarbooks.com
http://www.masonicdictionary.com
http://www.thelodgeroom.com
http://www.radiofreemason.com
I received my premier issue just yesterday and the
articles were so well written and informative that I read it cover to cover in
the short span of a few hours! While reading the Masonic Magazine
I thought to myself that this publication has all the characteristics and
attributes of "The Builder" magazine that was published from 1915-1930.
The articles concentrated on important Masonic issues of the day like
"Guarding the West Gate" and the role "Women in Freemasonry" ought to play!
My favorite article was the "The Pirate Mason", a story about Count von
Luckner and the Sea Eagle.
Brother Dafoe has certainly
succeeded in cranking up the interest level for Masonic Education several
notches with this magazine! You can order this wonderful publication at:
