Early Collection of Master
Mason Tobacco Tins
Here is a Master Mason tobacco tin
called the "square tin". It measures 7 1/4" long x 6 1/2" wide x 2 3/4"
deep and contained 3 pounds of plug tobacco. It dates from the 1910's
- 1920's. It was made by the Rock City Tobacco Co. Ltd. of Quebec, Canada.
Here is a Master Mason tobacco tin
called the "round tin". Its top was special molded so that it could
presumably be used as an ashtray. It measures 5 1/4" in diameter x 2 3/4"
deep. It dates from the 1930's - 1940's. It was made by the
Rock City Tobacco Co. Ltd. of Quebec, Canada.
This is a Master Mason vertical
pocket tin made by the Rock City Tobacco Company, Ltd. Quebec, Canada. It
measures 4 1/2" x 3" x 1 1/4" and has an estimated value of $1,000.00 -

Here is a picture of the Aleppo
Tobacco Tin. It was given out at their annual meeting and New Years Eve
Dance on December 31st, 1909. It measures 3 1/4 " long x 2 1/8" wide x
7/8" deep. It was manufactured by Larus & Bros. Co. of Richmond, VA.
They were very well known for their brand of "Edgeworth" Tobacco. As a
matter of interest, this was their stock (small) tin and was custom ordered by
Aleppo Temple for this occasion.
