These fluted glasses are unusual as they were all made for the A.A.S.R. Grand Consistory of Kentucky and all of them are dated for January 1st (New Years Day).  This Consistory has produced a glass every year to commemorate their New Years Day festivities.  They are acid etched with the Scottish Rite double-headed Eagle with the 32nd Degree breastplate.  They also carry the 32nd Degree Latin motto:  SPES MEA IN DEO EST meaning:  My hope is in God. The styles of the glasses changed from year to year.  Above are just a few samples of them.

A special "Thanks" to Mr. Lowell Griffin of Louisville, Kentucky and Scottish Rite Brother Charles E. Casey for donating these beautiful glasses to our museum.
